Shady Grove Motocross
On Sunday we ventured out to Shady Grove in Irving again. The kids are really getting good at riding their bikes and four wheelers.

Newest Happenings and Dallas World Aquarium
I haven't blogged in a while...
so I just thought I'd write about what we've done since the last blog.
Samara has learned to blow bubbles with her gum, a feat that no one else in the family under the age of 7 has learned to do yet. Although all of them can blow bubbles of spit upon request!
To celebrate Trent's birthday, we loaded up the dirt bikes and four wheelers, bought a box of chicken and headed to the track. We spent the day riding at Shady Grove in Irving. It was great, we basically had the track to ourselves.
On another day, we visited the Dallas World Aquarium. The little kids had never been there before, neither had Trent. We were surprised by how hot and humid it was inside the building. But it was really cool being able to walk around the 3 story building with birds flying freely all around us. We looked and looked but weren't able to find the sloth. The three-toed sloth is also roaming freely in the branches. We did see several small monkeys who were in the trees though. Some of our favorite animals were the stingrays, sharks, and the manatees! The manatee was huge. Here's a photo of the kids up close with one of the manatees:

There was a really cool tunnel that we walked under where we could see the sharks. We also walked outside to see the African penguins! It's weird to see penguins outside in Texas!
We also saw a tarantula that was bigger than Nehemiah's! I was interested in the bats though no one else found them that interesting. We all had a good time watching the workers feed the vipers. There were three viper snakes in the exhibit so while one worker was feeding a snake, the other worker use a poker to hold down the next closest snake to prevent a bite. Those are poisonous snakes! We thought it was weird that they would feed the snake in the manner that they did. They had what looked like a huge pair of tweezers which held a "pinkie" mouse. The worker held the dead mouse right in front of the snakes face, which was too close and the snake would back up. Then of course the lady would force the mouse closer to the snakes face again and the snake would move away! Nehemiah and I thought this was ridiculous. The snake wants to attack the food, not be fed. Anyway, the snake eventually took the food. I guess it works!
